Maximize Your Disneyland PhotoPass Experience

| | |

Many changes are happening at Disneyland and just like Walt Disney World, these changes can come with a few struggles, but also many advantages.  We know many of you are regular Walt Disney World travelers, so here is a good breakdown of how the Disneyland Photopass works.  You will note that many things are the same, but also take notice of the differences so that you can maximize this add on.

Disneyland App-Experience PhotoPass in a Whole New Way

To maximize the Disneyland PhotoPass, you first need to download the Disneyland app. With access to wait times, FASTPASS return times and where to find favorite Disney characters, the Disneyland App is a great tool to enhance your Disneyland Resort visit. And now, this great app allows you to experience Disney PhotoPass Service in a whole new way.

Take note of all of the options this app has to offer:

Link Photos

In the past, you needed to collect of hold on to your Disney PhotoPass Cards during your visit,  but you can now link the cards to your account by entering the 16-character PhotoPass ID or by using the QR code scanner available in the app.  You can also link attractions photographs by entering the 8-character ID found on the preview monitor at the exit of a participating attraction.  This will save you a lot of headache now that you won’t need to keep track of several cards.

View and Purchase Photos

You can also view your memories and purchase them straight from the Disneyland App! You will have the option to purchase an individual photo or download all of your photos captured during a one-day visit to Disneyland Resort.  Disney PhotoPass+ One Day includes all your Disney PhotoPass photos including select attractions and dining photos, plus the NEW Animated Magic Shots.

If you want to pre-purchase the Disney PhotoPass+ One Day, you can do so through the app.  However, there is no discount for prepaying like there is at Walt Disney World.  Another difference between the Disneyland and Walt Disney World PhotoPass system is that there is currently no multi-day package available at Disneyland; you will need to buy multiple Disney PhotoPass+ One Day packages if you are visiting Disneyland for several days and want all of your photos.

If you aren’t sure if you want to purchase Disney PhotoPass+ One Day or any pictures from your vacation, you have 45 days to decide and make a purchase.  Also note that if you want to add borders, you must do that in the parks before you leave and have them print them for you.  Digital borders are no longer available.

Download and Share

Once you have purchased your photos, you can download and share them with family and friends via text, email and some of your favorite social media sites.

If you have an Annual Passport that includes Disney PhotoPass downloads, you can link your pass to your account so you can download and share you photos using the Disneyland App too!

I hope this will help you if you are looking to take a Disneyland vacation soon.  There are so many differences between Walt Disney World and Disneyland and Walt Express plans to bring you more information on all of your favorite Disney destinations and vacation options this year and beyond.  If you have questions about Disney vacations or want us to concentrate on certain topics, chime in on the comments and let us know.
