We make a list, whether written down, or in our minds, of things to do on our next trip. But, while you’re making all those plans, here are our top 5 mistakes to avoid at Disney World in 2021.

Forgetting Your Mask

I’m sure by now, you’ve become somewhat of an expert at not leaving home without your mask. But, if you’re like me, you probably still forget it at times. Well, if you have plans to visit Disney World, don’t forget to pack your mask. As a matter of fact, pack a few. You will get hot and sweaty while walking around the parks. And your mask is sure to get dirty. It wouldn’t hurt to have a few masks.

Remember, guests aged 2 years old and up are required to wear a mask when visiting the parks. This is also a requirement at Disney World resorts and Disney Springs. Also, be sure to check Disney World’s policy to ensure that your mask meets their requirements. If for some reason you do forget your mask, there are plenty of places to pick one up while on your trip. But, do you really want to use that Disney spending money on a mask?

Going Without a Plan

There are a few types of people who visit Disney World. There are some who plan things meticulously before going. And there are others who go with no plan and fly by the seat of their pants. Honestly, the spontaneous trips can be some of the most memorable. But now is not the time to do that.

In addition to booking your trip, you will need to make park reservations. This will need to be done for each park you want to visit. Check out the dining options that are going to be available when you’re there. Keep up with the latest announcements. You can still be spontaneous while on your trip, but please avoid the mistake of being unprepared.

Not Taking Breaks

I’m a huge advocate for taking breaks under normal conditions. But, even more so now, avoid the mistake of doing too much without taking breaks. If you go during the summer or early fall, it will be hot. You will get hot and sweaty. The masks may be uncomfortable at times. There is also plenty of walking. Take advantages of the areas reserved for breaks. Sit down, take your mask off, and drink plenty of water.

If your trip is a little longer and you plan to visit all 4 parks, I would recommend taking at least one day for rest. Sleep in a little bit on that day. Hang out by the pool. Head over to Disney Springs for lunch and dessert. Have no set agenda. Just enjoy time together.

Forgetting That Things Are Different (at least for now)

If you’ve been to Disney World before, you’ve witnessed the full Disney experience. You’ve crowded together with thousands of people to see the fireworks and parades. Chances are, you’ve been able to get that hug and autograph from your favorite character. Unfortunately, right now, those things are not going to happen.

Don’t make the mistake of forgetting that the Disney World experience is different right now. I can’t wait until those things are back. But, until then, please know that Disney World Imagineers and Cast Members have worked incredibly hard. They are continuing to provide plenty of Disney magic. It may look different, but you will still have a great time and make plenty of memories

Being Rude

I know this should go without saying, but please avoid the mistake of being rude. Sure, things are different. As it gets hotter, our patience gets a little thinner. When a Cast Member reminds you of one of the rules, don’t be rude to them. Disney World cast members are doing their job to the best of their ability. They are trying to ensure that they do what they have to so you can enjoy your magical vacation.

And when you’re surrounded by other guests, please remember to be courteous. They are families who are trying their best to have a bit of escape from this crazy world. Don’t forget, you’re all at the most magical place on earth trying to make lasting memories.

The last year and a half has been rough. We are all looking for a bit of magic in our lives. If you’re like our family, you love taking pictures at Disney World. There are certain locations you want your picture taken. But sometimes, you can find yourself waiting in a long line waiting for a Disney PhotoPass photographer, especially if it’s in front of Cinderella’s Castle.

With the Capture Your Moment experience, Disney World now offers the opportunity to have your own Disney PhotoPass photographer for 20 or 40 minutes. They have props that you can use during your photo session. Or, if you’d like, you can bring your own props. Please note that any props that you bring must adhere to Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules.

This is a perfect opportunity to celebrate a special occasion with your significant other or family. Celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or engagement while at Disney World? Why not commemorate that event by booking a Capture Your Moment photo session?

How Does It Work?

So, how does it all work? The Capture Your Moment photo session is booked with Walt Disney World. It is highly recommended that you book this experience ahead of time, as time slots can be quickly taken. There is a possibility of booking it same day, but it may not be likely.

On the day of your scheduled session, you will need to arrive 10 to 15 minutes ahead of your appointment. Your photographer will meet you at Box Office Gifts inside Town Square Theater along Main Street, U.S.A.

The photographer will spend the next 20 minutes taking you on a journey where they will capture photos in several iconic locations. They will work hard to capture photos that create magical memories that you will never forget.

The Cost

I know what you’re thinking, though. You want to know how much your own personal photographer is going to cost. Here’s the good news: it’s very affordable. A 20 minute Capture Your Moment photo experience will cost $50. But what if, 20 minutes is not enough? Good news! You can book 2 Capture Your Moment sessions back to back. This gives you 40 minutes with your own photographer for $100.

Once the photo session is completed, you do have the option to purchase any of the photos taken. This is in addition to the cost for the session. There is a way around this. If you purchased the Memory Maker with your vacation package, you will have access to all photos taken during the Capture Your Moment photo session for no additional cost. Important Information To Know

There are some important things to keep in mind when booking the Capture Your Moment photo experience:

• Capture Your Moment is available only at Magic Kingdom and only during regular operating hours.

• Full payment is required at time of booking.

Our Experience 

Our family celebrated our daughter’s birthday while on our last trip to Disney World. We decided to book a Capture Your Moment photo session while at Magic Kingdom. Many people think a Disney World vacation begins when you enter the parks. But, for our family, that magical vacation begins the moment we start driving down the road. We enter Disney World under the archway that lets us know we’re home. We can’t wait to make it to the parks so we can ride our favorite rides, fill up on plenty of snacks and see our favorite characters. But, we normally come in a day early so we still have some time to do other things. So, what exactly can you do on the first day of your Walt Disney World resort?

First Day At Disney World

Here are the top 4 things our family loves to do on the first day of our magical vacation.

Explore Your Resort

Disney World’s Imagineers are incredibly talented. They have gone above and beyond in their designs in the parks. But, that’s not the only place you’ll see their handiwork. The resorts are packed full of theming and details. These things will be a constant reminder that you are in the most magical place on earth.

Exploring our resort is at the top of our list of things to do as soon as we arrive. It doesn’t matter if we’ve stayed at that resort before, or if it’s the very first time. So, when you arrive, take some time to soak it all in. Check out where the restaurants and shopping options are located. Take a look around at the places that will provide perfect photo opportunities throughout your stay. Finding those spots for special photo ops is a great thing to do on your first day at Disney World. The pictures you take will be a reminder of all the excitement of your trip.

Go For A Swim

Regardless of the time of year you’re visiting Disney World, a dip in the pool is a great way to spend your first day at Disney World. The pools at the resorts are heated, so you can enjoy a comfortable swim throughout most of the year. Most of the time, our family has a bag reserved just for our pool gear. Once we’re settled into our room and have explored the resort, we head straight for the pool.

You may be thinking, “I can swim at home. What’s the big deal of swimming at my Disney World Resort?” Let me tell you, like everything else Disney related, you will be drawn into another world. It will bring out the kid in you, no matter your age. You will hear the most iconic Disney music being pumped through the speakers. And the resorts have multiple pools with their own themes and special details. Take time to explore each of them. If your kids are like ours, they would stay in the pool the whole trip, but there’s a lot more excitement to be had!

Ride the Monorail

There are two types of people at Walt Disney World: those who see the Monorail as just a mode of transportation and those who see it as one of the rides. Our family views the Monorail as one of our favorite rides at Disney World. The Monorail provides the perfect opportunities to catch a glimpse of Cinderella’s Castle at Magic Kingdom, or the iconic Spaceship Earth ball at Epcot.

Hop on one of the buses from your resort and head over to Magic Kingdom where you will be able to get on the Monorail and go for a ride. Better yet, book a stay at one of the three resorts that have a stop on the Monorail—Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Our favorite times of day to do this is around sunset and after dark. Riding around Seven Seas Lagoon will provide some of the most beautiful sunset views at Disney World. When the sun goes down, you will be able to see the beauty of everything lit up!

Visit Disney Springs on your First Day At Disney World

One final thing that our family loves to experience on our first day at Walt Disney World is exploring Disney Springs. If you love the night life, dining, shopping and fun entertainment then make it a point to head to Disney Springs. There’s plenty to do for every age. Stop by the LEGO store and look at all the characters and scenes that have been built on display around the store. Venture over to the Coca-Cola store and take a trip down memory lane as you see all the memorabilia from days gone by. If you’re looking for the best Disney themed apparel and toys, stop by the World of Disney. But be careful, it’s easy to spend way too much time and money there.

After shopping, we have to eat! There are plenty of places to eat. The options range from sit down restaurants to outdoor vendors. If you like smoked meats, don’t overlook The Polite Pig! When arriving at our Disney World resort, we always look forward to hearing those special words, “Welcome Home!” The cast members definitely make us feel like family. It does feel like we’re coming home each time we visit. During the chaos we’ve been facing, our family has missed visiting the most magical place on earth and we can’t wait until it reopens. I bet you may feel the same way. There seems to be a light shining at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully, we’ll be able to enjoy a Disney vacation again very soon! When Disney World Reopens

There are SO many things we want to do when Disney World reopens. These are just our top 5 as a family!

Hug Mickey And Minnie

As much as we’ve missed visiting our favorite characters, I’m certain that they’ve missed us too! I know we are missing the hugs, laughs, and joy the character experiences always brings. We can’t wait to get back to our character meet and greets, especially with Mickey and Minnie! It doesn’t matter how many times we see them, it’s special every time. But I’m sure our first time back, this meeting will be extra magical!

Eat ALL The Food!

We love food no matter where we go. But food at Disney World is extra special. We’ve definitely been going through withdrawals since we haven’t been able to enjoy the churros, pretzels, Mickey waffles and everything else they offer! You can have some of these snacks at home, but let’s face it, it’s not the same as having it while on your Disney vacation! I can’t wait to walk through the front gate and venture down Main Street just to take in the smells of everything sweet that’s baking! And we can’t forget the incredible food at all of our Disney World restaurants, especially Casey’s at Magic Kingdom!

Ride Everything!

We love the rides. There’s really not a ride that we’ve been on that we didn’t enjoy (well, except for a few that the kids didn’t care for that we dragged them on). While we can’t enjoy the rides in person right now, we find ourselves often looking up videos of our favorite rides to relive the fun memories we’ve made. But, watch out when the parks reopen. We plan to go from rope drop until they run us out at the end of the day! We have to make up for lost time by hopping on every ride we can fit into our schedule!

Take More Pictures When Disney World Reopens

It doesn’t matter how many times you visit Disney World, you have to take plenty of pictures. The pictures we’ve taken on previous vacations are what has reminded us of the incredible memories and kept the Disney magic alive for our family while we can’t be in the parks. So, charge your phone and get ready to take plenty of selfies. Take silly pictures together as a family. Invest in the Memory Maker package and let Disney’s Photopass Photographers capture those “must-have” shots. And seriously, if you don’t get your picture made in front of the castle, have you really been on a Disney vacation?

Soak Up The Disney Magic

Sure, there are plenty of vacations you could take as a family where you can make memories. I know there are parks and activities you could enjoy. But there’s something special about a Disney vacation. And it’s all because of the Disney magic! From the moment you step foot on Disney property until the minute you leave, you are surrounded by that magic! Every cast member around knows how to spread it too. So, in the midst of running here and there making sure you’ve done everything you wanted, don’t be so busy that you fail to look around and see everything through the eyes of a child. You and your family have had a magical vacation at the happiest place on earth. But as we know all too well, all good things must come to an end. For the past few days, you’ve escaped the pressures of everyday life. Leaving Disney World and heading back home to the real world is definitely not easy. There’s plenty to not like about this reality. So here’s a list of the top five things we hate about leaving Disney World.

There are so many things we love about Disney World, but here are a few things we hate about leaving Disney World. These struggles are so real, my Disney friends!

Packing Everything Up

After having so much fun and running here and there completing every item on your to-do list, it’s hard to muster the energy and motivation needed to pack your bags. You look around the room and are reminded of the memories you’ve made. If you’re like us, you’re wondering how you’re going to fit everything in your vehicle. On top of everything you brought with you, you’ve accumulated plenty of souvenirs and snacks to take home. It’s all a bit overwhelming and you’re not sure if you even want to tackle this task. But, you must.

Dealing With The Sadness

Post Disney Depression may be something that all Disney fanatics joke about, but it’s a real thing. The fact that you’re leaving such a magical place and headed home is enough to induce all kinds of sadness. The kids are sad about going back to school. And let’s face it, the adults can be quite sad, too! Every time our family takes a Disney vacation, someone ends up in tears as we leave the hotel and get back on the road. There’s only one way to deal with this very real problem: start planning another Disney vacation, of course!

The Food

In the midst of all the magic of a Disney vacation, there’s something even more special about the food. It doesn’t matter if it’s food you can get at home, it’s better at Disney World. The cupcakes, cookies, pies, and definitely the churros. You just can’t wait to get back to enjoy it all again! If you have one of the dining plans, here’s a tip that you may not be aware of: Snack credits that are left over can be used at your resort’s quick service dining location. Stock up on your favorite snacks to use on the road back home.

The Disney Magic

There are many things to love about a Disney vacation. But there’s nothing like the Disney magic. So what is Disney magic? It’s the cast members who are incredible at making you feel special. The music that you can’t help but sing along with. The smiles of cast members and park visitors alike. The minute details that the Imagineers spend so much time on throughout the parks and resorts. One of our favorites? The Magic Bands. These bands are great collectibles, but they unlock a ton of magic. From unlocking your room door to paying for souvenirs to using your Fast Passes. These little bands will spoil you. And you won’t realize that until you get home and have to pull your keys out of your pocket or actually have to physically pull a credit card or cash out of your wallet. It doesn’t matter how many times you visit Disney World, leaving the Disney magic behind is never easy!

The Journey Home

The bags have been packed. You’ve exited your room. You’ve walked around your resort one final time. And now you’re in your vehicle heading toward the exit. Behind you are all the laughs, snacks and fun times. Ahead of you is the long road home. This is a sad time for our family. We normally find ourselves sitting in traffic before we hit the interstate. During this time, we talk about the week we’ve had and the memories we made. It’s a special time to connect as a family and to be thankful for another magical Disney vacation in the books.

Whether it’s your first trip to Disney World or your hundredth, leaving is always the hardest part! Ease the pain of leaving by making plans to be back very soon. That’s how we deal with it! When you take a vacation to Disney World, it’s more than just going to a theme park. It’s an immersive experience from the moment you step foot onto Disney property. In the midst of all the things that you have on your to do list, there are simply some things to avoid at Disney World.

Things To Avoid At Disney World

There are things to do at every turn. The possibilities are literally endless. And I’m sure you already have a list in mind of things you have to do. There are restaurants with foods that are pleasing to the eye and the stomach. Photo opportunities that will be on your list of “must haves”. Rides that you’ve been thinking about non-stop since the moment you booked your trip. And we can’t forget all of the characters you want to meet. However, there ARE some things you need to avoid at Disney World.

Wearing Uncomfortable Shoes

First up is your choice of footwear. It doesn’t matter where you go in the Disney World parks or resorts, there will be tons of walking, so come prepared. I would recommend leaving the Sunday best shoes at home, or at least save it for a special occasion on your trip. Find a pair of comfortable shoes that will keep your feet from aching or rubbing blisters. Choosing the correct footwear can make or break your vacation. I mean, who wants to spend their whole trip with aching feet? 

Getting Dehydrated

Another thing to keep in mind with all the walking is the fact that it is often hot since you are in central Florida. It’s important to stay hydrated on your trip. Take a water bottle with you. Fill it up before you leave your resort and then as often as needed throughout the day. There are water fountains throughout the parks where you can refill your water bottles. Also, you can go to any quick service restaurant location and the cast members will give you a free cup of ice water. You don’t want to get sick, so don’t skip out on the water.

Sleeping In

There are different opinions on this one, but our family does not sleep in when it comes to a Disney World vacation. Although we’d love to come back every day, there’s just no telling when we’ll be back. So, we like to experience it all while we’re there. We love to be at the parks as soon as they open and we often do not leave until they close. Of course, we do take breaks throughout the day. It can be tiring, but you can sleep when you get home, right?

Forgetting Your Poncho

Weather in Florida can be wildly unpredictable. But there’s one thing that can almost be guaranteed: there will most likely be rain on your trip. If you stay at Disney World for any length of time, you will encounter bad weather. So, why not be prepared with a poncho? You can pick up a good quality, reusable one or stop by your local dollar store and stock up on several of the disposable ones. Whatever you do, don’t leave the resort without it. Those rain showers can come from out of nowhere at times.

Using A Selfie Stick

Before you head to Disney World, it might be helpful for you to review the list of items that are banned in the parks. One of those things is the selfie stick. I know that there are times when you simply must get that selfie in the perfect location with your friends and family. But do yourselves a favor and leave the selfie stick at home. If you need a family picture or a selfie and your arms aren’t long enough to get everything in the frame, ask one of the Disney Photopass Photographers. I’ve never had one tell me that they wouldn’t take my picture with my camera. But if there are pictures you must have, why not ask your travel planner about adding the Memory Maker to your vacation package? Skipping The Nighttime Fun (fireworks, after hours, etc)

Last of all, there are tons of things to do at Disney World, but there is something you do not need to miss: nighttime fun! There’s just something about being in the Disney World parks after dark. When the lights come on, it looks even more magical. One of our favorite things to witness is the nightly fireworks show, especially at Magic Kingdom. It’s more than just a few fireworks going up into the sky. It’s a full blown production! Also, there are after hours events throughout the year that you need to check out. If you’re going to Disney World, ask your travel planner about the events that are going on while you’re there. You won’t regret it!

The trips never get old and I still get goosebumps when I see the sign welcoming me to Walt Disney World. There are a few things I haven’t done that are on my bucket list. So, here’s my top 5 Unique Experiences At Disney World that are on my bucket list! You may just want to add these to yours too!

Unique Experiences At Disney World

Everyone’s “bucket list” for Disney World will be different, and these are just a few things that my family and I would like to try! Of course, this is ONLY five of what’s actually on my list, there is more! LOL!

Nothing BUT Character Meet and Greets

There are rides and attractions that are amazing and well worth the wait times. But, my love for all things Disney began with the characters. There’s nothing like the opportunity to meet your favorite character and getting your picture taken with them. Those photos are priceless treasures to look back on and be reminded of the characters that made you fall in love with Disney to begin with. It would be awesome to spend a full day doing nothing but character meet and greets. Maybe even make it a scavenger hunt of sorts. Have your family make a list and see who can find, and meet, the most characters.

Stay in the Royal Guest Room at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort

A vacation at Walt Disney World is incredibly magical. But who wouldn’t want to experience a little extra magic and be treated like royalty? Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort offers a category of rooms called the Royal Guest Room. So, if you’re like me and want the extra dose of magic, this is the place to stay. Complete with details that allude to the princes and princesses of Disney movies as well as the fiber optic fireworks in the headboards, this is at the top of my list of resorts for our family to experience!

Visit All 4 Parks In One Day

This one may be a little more difficult with smaller children, but it’s definitely a challenge worth attempting. I’m not talking about getting into the parks, staying for a short time, then leaving. I want to visit all four parks and hit my favorite, or must-try, rides. Heading into Animal Kingdom first thing to hop on Expedition Everest and Na’vi River Journey. Be sure to look for Devine! Stopping in at Hollywood Studios to experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and catching a ride on one of my favorites in the park: Slinky Dog Dash. After that, it would be a stop at Epcot to ride Soarin’ and Test Track before grabbing a bite to eat in the World Showcase. Then finish it all up with the fireworks at Magic Kingdom and getting a few rides in before the park closes. I’m sure it would make for a long day, but it would be worth it!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Our family loves Christmas. And there is nowhere in the world that does Christmas quite like Walt Disney World. The trees along with all the other decorations. And, of course, Cinderella’s Castle all lit up. Christmas at Disney seems more magical than any other time. But Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is something we’ve not had the opportunity to experience yet. Seeing the special parade down Main Street, visiting with characters that are often hard to find, and eating the special treats are all things that we’d like to experience firsthand. Hopefully, this is an item that will be checked off very soon!

Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour

Everything about Walt Disney World is awe-inspiring. The creativity of Walt Disney himself, along with all the imagineers who make everything come to life is mind-blowing. But I really want to experience what happens behind the scenes. This 5 hour tour of Disney’s Magic Kingdom gives you the scoop on the creation and growth of this iconic theme park. The thing I’d like to experience most on this tour is visiting the underground tunnels by way of the “Utilidors”. 

Bucket List

With the ever-changing landscape of Walt Disney World, I’m sure that, as soon as I check these items off, there will be more things to make it onto my list. Your Disney World vacation has been booked for months. During that time, you’ve been making your list and checking it twice. Time has been spent researching the perfect places to eat, the must-have photo opportunities, and food that you have to try. You’re so excited about having a magical vacation and making memories with your family. In your mind, you’ve planned it all out to be the perfect vacation. But I want to give you some advice: there’s no such thing as a perfect Disney World vacation, not even with ALL that magic.

NO Such Thing As A Perfect Disney World Vacation

What are some things that you may encounter that will cause you to want to pull your hair out? Here are a few that you may not have thought about.

• Your kids will throw a tantrum and who knows, your spouse may throw one too! It’s frustrating when you get to the front of the line on your favorite ride and an epic meltdown occurs that causes you to turn around and leave. 
• Be prepared for bad weather. I’ve never been on a Disney trip where I didn’t experience some sort of bad weather. Chances are high that it will at least rain. One vivid memory comes from our kids’ very first trip. A few hours after we arrived, we had dinner reservations at Chef Mickey. We forgot umbrellas and ponchos. A massive rain shower occurred walking from the bus to the monorail. We arrived for our reservations soaking wet. 
• Walt Disney World can be unbelievably hot and miserable at times. Pair that with waiting in line with your kids and it can be rough. 
• Not to mention the attitudes that spill over into your perfect photo op. You’re getting your family picture in front of Cinderella’s Castle and one child (or adult) is not cooperating. 

Have A Plan In Place

It’s great to have a plan in place. There’s no problem at all with having a list of things that you’ve got to try. But the one word you need to keep in mind throughout the planning and the trip itself is flexibility. You’ve got to give yourself a little room for changes. 

You see, a Walt Disney World vacation is the most magical trip your family will experience. Even with all the magic, there will be things that are frustrating. Understand that the joy and excitement of the vacation isn’t necessarily based upon what happens, but rather how you respond to it.

Unexpected Can Mean Extra Magic

Do you remember when I mentioned the unexpected rain shower on the way to dinner? Well, we wanted to get on the bus and go back to the resort. Just skip the reservations. We were miserable. However, we decided to push through and go to dinner. It was in the midst of the misery that we got to experience a little of the Disney magic we’d heard about. A cast member saw us and brightened our evening (and our whole trip). My son had his Goofy hat on. The cast member asked if she could take the hat and get it signed. Little did we know that it would be Goofy himself that returned with the hat in hand. He made our son’s night when he took the time to pose for pictures with him.

There will be moments that you get frustrated. But, just roll with the punches. Make the most of those moments. You never know; it may be the most frustrating times that become the fondest memories!

A Disney vacation is a once in a lifetime experience. That doesn’t mean you only have to go once. If you’re like us, once you visit Walt Disney World, Disneyland or take a Disney Cruise, you are hooked. All you want to do is keep going back. The only thing on your mind as you’re headed home is when you’ll be back in the magic. AND there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. So what is it that keeps people like us coming back for more? Why is it that we always go back to Disney for our vacations?

We Always Go Back To Disney

While there are several Disney Destinations and all of them are magical and amazing, we are going to focus on Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fl!

Childhood Memories

The incredible thing about all things Disney is that it connects multiple generations. There is something special about experiencing Walt Disney World as a child and then having the opportunity to take your children. The experience of seeing your child’s eyes light up when they see their favorite character for the first time is enough to bring a tear to your eye. A fun thing to do with your kids while on a Disney vacation is to recreate those photos you made when you were a kid. Have a photo standing in front of the castle with your parents? Or maybe you have a fun picture with a parent on your favorite ride. Take that same photo with your child. Those will be memories that can be passed down through your family. And each time you and your family looks those pictures, they will be reminded of the excitement and joy they felt in that moment. 

Character Experiences

There are a lot of rides and attractions that we, along with many others, love. But the character experiences are beyond amazing. It doesn’t matter how many times we’ve met Mickey and Minnie, we still stand in line to see them again. These aren’t just people in a suit standing in the same spot, taking pictures with guests and waiting for a break. These cast members know how to make each person feel special. They take their time with each person and interact with them in such a way that it leaves a lasting impression. Their conversations can be memories that will last a lifetime. 

The VIP Treatment

If you’ve ever been on a Disney vacation, whether it’s Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Lines, Adventures by Disney, or another Disney Destination, you know what I’m talking about when I mention the VIP treatment. Every person that steps foot on Disney property is considered special and important. From the moment you check into your hotel to the moment you leave, the cast members make you feel like royalty. Disney wants to make sure that each guest is happy and enjoying their vacation. So, they go out of their way to do all they can for each person. They often give magical extras that you may not have been expecting. If they know you are celebrating a birthday or special occasion, then get ready for them to make a big deal out of it. That’s just what they do. And it keeps people coming back for more!

The Food Experience

One of the things we love most about Disney is the food. It is impossible to go on a Disney vacation and not be confronted with the incredible smells of every kind of food imaginable. From the bakeries and food carts to the restaurants all around, you will be going through sensory overload. It’s one of the main things that we miss when we are back home. It’s incredible to not only taste the amazing flavors of the churros and Dole Whip or the Wonderland Slush, but also to see the talent of the artists who create these treats along with the cupcakes and desserts. It’s an experience for your taste buds and your eyes. I can guarantee that you will be craving something tasty from Disney when you go home! But all you have to do is book another trip!

The BEST Place on Earth

Life is chaotic and stressful. Many times, vacations can be the same way. What I have experienced with a Disney vacation is that the cast members work hard to ensure that your vacation is an escape from the craziness of life. When you step onto Main Street at Magic Kingdom, it’s like you’re transported into another world and the cares of everyday life outside fade away. You can let loose and act like a big kid again. Ride the rides and scream as loud as you want. Stop for a moment, look around, and take in all the magic that surrounds you. Check out the smiles on the faces of every cast member. Look at the kids who are amazed at Cinderella’s Castle. While you’re doing all those things, it’s almost impossible not to smile and feel a sense of joy. That’s the magic of a Disney vacation. It truly is the happiest place on earth!

Do you love all things Disney? I’m sure you do. Would you go to Disney World every month if you were able? If you’re like me, then you would answer yes to that question also. That may be overwhelming if you have kids, though. There are the travel arrangements for the whole family. Then you have to think about all the things you need to pack for the kids. The stroller, snacks, wet wipes, etc. What if I told you that it is okay to take a trip to Disney World without the kids? What would you do if the kids weren’t with you? Disney World without kids can be just as much fun! Here are a few things we like to do!

Disney World Without Kids

I know what you’re thinking. This type of vacation is primarily for kids. Silly adults, Disney World isn’t just for kids! There are plenty of things for you to enjoy on an adults only vacation to this magical place! So, if you have the opportunity to take a Disney World vacation without the kids, then there are some things you should definitely try out while you’re visiting. Here are four of our favorites while doing Disney World without kids!

Pamper Yourself

Life can be crazy and stressful most of the time. When we think of relaxing and having a peaceful day, sometimes, a Disney World vacation isn’t normally what comes to mind. It is possible to find a relaxing place in the midst of the crowds of people that flock to the most magical place on earth. If you’re looking for relaxation, then why not try a relaxing spa day? There are several spas to choose from throughout the Disney World Resorts. Check out the Senses Spa at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa or Ship Shape at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Take in a relaxing massage and finish it up with a Tropical Immersion Facial. Enjoy the quiet, peaceful time and leave the worries of the real world behind you for awhile. Then spend the rest of the day soaking up the sun while relaxing by the pool as you prepare for dinner. 

Romantic Dinner

Now that you’ve had your nice relaxing day at the spa or pool (or both), it’s time to get ready for a nice romantic dinner with your significant other at one of the many special restaurants at Disney World. When you have kids, it’s not always easy getting time away to get dressed up and have an uninterrupted meal with adult conversations. This is a great way to reconnect with one another. Disney’s imagineers go all out in order to create a magical dining experience that you will not forget! Some great options to consider for a romantic dinner would be Narcoosee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Jiko at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge or California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. One added benefit of California Grill is that you can watch the fireworks display at Magic Kingdom while you eat if you time it right. If you aren’t eating that late, then bring your receipt to get access to the observation area when the fireworks start.

Dinner Crawl

I had never heard of a dinner crawl until a few years ago when I was looking up ideas, so chances are, you may not know what it is either. So what is a dinner crawl? It’s simple, actually. You pick three different restaurants: one for an appetizer, one for the main course, and one for dessert. Make a plan of where you want to go and take off. You don’t have to visit each of the restaurants back to back. You can take your time with some fun in between. We tried this once before and it was great! I couldn’t think of a better place to try it than Disney World. A unique spin on this idea would be to do a dinner crawl across the world in Epcot.

Be A Kid

Okay, so all the things we’ve mentioned have been things to enjoy as adults. But let’s face it, at Disney World, everyone becomes a big kid. Just because you don’t have the kids with you doesn’t mean you can’t act like a one. Take in all the magic as if it were your first time. Get your picture in front of Cinderella’s Castle. Check out the shops on Main Street. Ride all of the rides (and I do mean all of them!). Eat the snacks. Cut loose and have a blast! 

My Thoughts On Disney World Without Kids

You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy a trip to Disney World. The things I mentioned are only the tip of the iceberg, too! The possibilities are endless. There’s nothing like taking a Disney vacation and seeing the joy in your children’s’ eyes as they take in all the magic. Sometimes, it’s great to get away without the kids to experience the magic yourself. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a little “me” time! So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to start planning!
