Video: Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros at Disney World

If you have not experienced Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros, you are missing such a lively ride. Not only is this a fun boat tour, it is also in my favorite pavilion in the World Showcase at Epcot-Mexico! Make sure to check out the Video: Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros at Disney World to see if you should add this attraction to your itinerary.

Location

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros is located in the Mexico pavilion at Epcot. As you enter into the left side of the World Showcase, Mexico is the first pavilion. You can’t miss the Mayan Pyramid that houses Gran Fiesta Tour. As you make your way through the pavilion, you will find the entrance to the queue on the left towards the back of the pavilion.

The Mexico Pavilion

Video: Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros a Disney World ReviewWhen you step into the Mexico pavilion, you are stepping into an entirely different world. You will enter a room that exhibits history and culture from the ceiling to the floor. This area is all about the Mayans and other ancient civilizations that shaped Mexico into what it is today. Once you pass through, you will step down into what looks like an open air market underneath the night time stars. It is absolutely breathtaking. There are little stands and shops everywhere with souvenirs, gifts and authentic, hand-painted trinkets. You can even watch some of these items being made! There is also an excellent Mexican restaurant in the pavilion, San Angel Inn Restaurante. If you have reservations for San Angel Inn Restaurante, make sure you request a table overlooking the water!

The Ride

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros is a gentle boat ride that is about 10 minutes long. You will float through many scenes watching Jose Carioca’s and Panchito’s efforts to find Donald before the big musical concert in Mexico City.

To begin the ride, you will meander your way around a Mayan pyramid with an erupting volcano in the background. Don’t let the pyramid and volcano on your left take your attention away from what is on your right, a beautiful view of the San Angel Inn Restaurante. Make sure to wave at the guests dining at the tables overlooking the water!

Gran-Fiesta-Tour-Epcot-RidePassing through a tunnel, you will meet Jose and Panchito and begin the adventure of searching for Donald. The first part of the chase are scenes of live action shots of Mexican locales that includes hilarious animation of Donald enjoying many experiences in Mexico. Jose and Panchito always seem to be one step behind Donald. There are also vibrant scenes of dolls much like it’s a small world at Magic Kingdom. These dolls are dressed in festive clothing and getting ready for the big party. They are dancing, holding sparklers and decorating for the event. See if you can spot Donald while floating by!

Now we are back on the hunt. Donald is definitely living it up while visiting Mexico. He’s parasailing (or trying to anyway), cliff diving, and even snorkeling! Jose and Panchito finally find him and just in time for the big finale! There are balloons, festive music and of course, fireworks. At the end, Donald, Jose and Panchito are singing as a group at the big finale.
