MaxPass For Disneyland Tickets

First and foremost, the MaxPass is for Disneyland in California. The MaxPass is an add on to your base ticket at Disneyland. The cost to add this on will be an additional $15 per day per ticket/person. Now that we have that out of the way, let’s get down to business!

Using MaxPass

Remember when you would have to run over to the ride you wanted a FastPass for and stand in a line just to get a return time? Well that is a thing of the past with the MaxPass For Disneyland Tickets. For instance, you are NOW able to get your FastPass conveniently at your fingertips. By signing into the Disneyland app you are able to choose the ride you want to create a FastPass for and your return time and the FastPass is created right from your phone. You will be able to make further selections every 90 minutes or when your current FastPass is used (whichever comes first). You can also make selections for attractions in Disneyland while in California adventure and vise versa.

FREE PhotoPass With MaxPass

Another great perk to having the MaxPass is unlimited PhotoPass downloads for the day of purchase. This means everyone in your family can now be in the picture. Selfies trying to get everyone in the picture with the castle is a thing of the past. Disney strategically places several PhotoPass Photographers around the park assuring you will get that picture perfect shot. These downloads will be available on your mobile device within minutes of the photographer taking the picture.

Are you starting your day off with Character Dinning experience? Getting those magical shots of your children seeing their favorite character (while getting a great meal) is included with the MaxPass. One “mom” secret I have is telling my kids that the characters won’t come to our table if they aren’t eating. Works like a charm. Savor the memories you are making along with knowing everyone’s belly with be full.

• Goofy’s Kitchen in The Disneyland Hotel

As a result, that means no more taking a picture with your phone hoping to save money! Disney PhotoPass attraction photos are available at these locations.

Disneyland has several ticket options and that can be quite confusing. We are going to go through all of the ticket options that are offered at Disneyland so you will know which will be the best fit for your family.

Base Ticket

Disneyland tickets are based on each park; Disneyland and California Adventure. Each park has a unique atmosphere and different attractions for the whole family. If you are looking for all the classics Disneyland is the place to be. There is so much history to experience at this park. Not to say that Disney has not kept up with times though. Disneyland does have updated attractions and lands including Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. 

Park Hopper

The next part of tickets we are going to dive into is the park hopper option. This part of your tickets will be up to what you believe your family will need and want. The two parks, Disneyland and California Adventure are minutes from each other. In fact, the entrances to both parks face one another and are very easily accessible to one another. If you believe your family is going to go back and forth and make the most of your tickets and fast passes this is the best option for you. 

Max Pass

Speaking of fast passes the max pass is another option you may add to your tickets when visiting Disneyland. The maxPass gives you the ability to make fast passes right from your phone. No need to run over to the attraction fast pass location anymore. The ability to pick your fast pass anywhere you are located in the park makes it worth the cost. The MaxPass also includes all your picture downloads from attractions and PhotoPass photographers for a period of time.

Length Of Stay

Now that you know about all the options for your tickets now lets talk about your length of stay. While Disneyland and California Adventure are very close to each other you may still need multiple days to get everything you want to accomplish done. Each park has something different for all ages and attractions that will knock your socks off. The shows and characters are nothing short of amazing; let’s face it we are in the area of Hollywood where everyone goes to be in show biz.

Season Passes

Going to Disneyland more than once in the next 365 days? Maybe a season pass is best for your needs. There are several different options to a season pass at Disneyland. One of the major differences in the season passes is the blackout days. Blackout days can include projected busy days, Holidays and weekends. If you think you want to visit Disneyland on a Holiday there are season passes that have no blackout dates. 

Premier Passport

The last ticket option to talk about is the season pass that gives you access to both Disneyland and Disney World. This pass has all the perks of a season pass with no black out dates, parking pass for all USA parks, and of course the great discounts.

Military Tickets

Have you or someone in your party served in the military? Great news, Disneyland has a ticket for that. To thank you for your service, Disneyland offers a Special Priced ticket called Salute tickets. These tickets are for military personnel and their family. Military personnel can purchase up to six tickets per year.

Must Do’s At Disney World

Disneyland Resort in California is usually touted as the park for die-hard Disney fanatics. It is Walt’s park. He walked among guests, rode the rides and even had an apartment on Main Street USA. Walt Disney World in Florida however has many nods to the man himself and should not be looked past for those Disney fans who enjoy frequenting the parks for nostalgia alone. If you are one of those people, look no further than the following attractions at Walt Disney World! They are sure to get your gears going and imagination running about what part Walt played in making these attractions come to life!

The Carousel of Progress

The Carousel of Progress was part of the 1964 World’s Fair in New York City before being moved to Disneyland Park and then again to Magic Kingdom in 1975. It is a rotating theater attraction following a quintessential American family at the turn of the century and through the decades. They focus on technological and cultural developments and always bring it back to the idea of progress, something that Walt Disney truly believed in. The music has a cult following and was composed by the Sherman brothers (Mary Poppins fame) and you will find yourself singing “there’s a great big beautiful tomorrow…”as you wander the park the rest of the day.

Jungle Cruise

Jungle Cruise was a Disneyland original that was brought to Magic Kingdom at its opening. I used to think, why do Jungle Cruise when Animal Kingdom has the real deal? Well, the skippers are hilarious and no ride is the same because of it. Also, at the holidays they change it up to Jingle Cruise and who doesn’t love a great holiday layover?

It’s a Small World

It’s a Small World is another 1964 World’s Fair attraction that celebrates the cultures of the world. The Mary Blair art and the catchy song will stay in your memory forever! This is truly one of the most classic Must Do’s At Disney World today!

One’s Man Dream

Disney history is not limited to the Magic Kingdom! Disney’s Hollywood Studios has One Man’s Dream, an exhibit on Walt Disney. While it is not an attraction, Walt put his stamp on it and is bound to get you feeling all kinds of sentimental as you read anecdotes and see artifacts from his life. It really makes you realize that this entire place was the idea of one man, and he forever changed the course of entertainment history forever.

The Tomorrowland People Mover

The People Mover is one of my hands down, all-time favorite attractions of all time. I ride it multiple times a trip. I wish they served snacks on it. If they did, I would ride it all day long and people watch from above while catching a glorious breeze traveling through Tomorrowland. Walt was always dreaming up innovative ideas for the future. He thought EPCOT Center would be a place people actually lived. While that didn’t necessarily happen, it was his creative spirit and hope for a better future that made him who he was and what his legacy continues to be today. The People Mover was a small part of that future dream community. A transport system for his Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow!

While Walt Disney himself unfortunately never got to see and experience the opening of Walt Disney World, it was his brainchild. Nicknamed “Project X”, Walt secretly scooped up hundreds of acres of swamp land and began this endeavor to create an actual world that his guests could immerse themselves in and escape reality. It was the place he wished to rectify the mistakes he felt he made at Disneyland and implement ideas he simply did not have the space for in California. We are extremely happy for the dreams he had and the fact that we get to enjoy this nostalgia at Disney World!

Disney World and Disneyland Differences

Both Disney World and Disneyland are magical vacation destinations and you can’t go wrong with either one! They do offer tons of magic and fun, but there are MAJOR differences between the two. Read on and find out!

Fast Passes

One of the major differences between Disneyland and Disney World is the fast pass system. With Disney World you are able to pre-plan your day by choosing which park you are attending and obtaining your fast passes 30-60 days in advance. At Disneyland you must wait until you are in attendance at the park to start creating your fast pass selections.

Another major difference is with Disney World you can get up to three fast passes at one time (made in advance either 60 or 30 days before your vacation). Disneyland allows one fast pass at a time unless your selection is later in the day at which time you must wait an allotted time before selecting your next pass.

Food And Dining

OK, let’s talk about snacks for a moment. Disney World has some amazing snacks but I have yet to find a better churro in all the land. Those things I swear have something in them that I can not pass up nor forget about. There are great advantages to Disney World dining though. Disney World is known for their amazing restaurants and who can pass up walking around Epcot to eat around the world? Disneyland does have a few restaurants that you can dine at throughout your vacation but the options are much more limited. One example to this is the character dining. Disneyland offers four different Character Dining experiences while Disney World has well over 25 different options for this experience.

Dining Plan

At Disney World they have a wonderful option you may opt in to; you may pre-purchase a dining plan that is based on credits used for each restaurant. For families that want to have everything set up in advance with no work or surprise costs while on vacation, the Disney Dining Plans are a great option.

Meanwhile, at Disneyland there is no option for a dining plan. You must purchase your food inside the park, near by, or bring in your own food.

Proximity of Park Locations

As you may know the Disney World property is a very large space (almost 40 square miles) and you need time to get from park to park. There are several options for transportation in Disney World in order to get from location to location.

In Disneyland the two parks are very close together. In fact you can get from one park to the other in about 5 minutes or less walking. The transportation in Disneyland is much more simple and you are able to get where you want to go with little knowledge of the transportation system.

Hotels And Resorts

Hotels on the Disneyland property are very close together and there are only three total Disneyland hotels. Each of the hotels are situated near or at Downtown Disney. One great advantage to Disneyland properties is Disney’s Grand Californian has a direct entrance into California Adventures. Yes, you read that correctly; there is a separate entrance for hotel guests to use that goes directly into the Disney California Adventure park.

On the other hand, you have Disney World where you have more options of staying on site and being able to cater to what your families needs are based on what is important to you. Staying at each Disney World resort brings a different experience and atmosphere for your family to experience.

Disney World and Disneyland Differences Offer Different Experiences

Disney World and Disneyland are both absolutely amazing places to visit. We believe that you can’t go wrong with either destination. There are some major differences between the two though.

These two magical destinations have MAJOR differences and believe it or not, people get them confused very easily! Once you know the differences, we think you will be able to really plan the perfect vacation to the perfect Disney Destination!

Location:

• Disneyland: Located in California
• Disney World: Located in Florida

The Castles: We bet you knew that both Disneyland and Disney World have beautiful and amazing castles. Did you know that the castles belong to different princesses? Yes!

• Disneyland: The castle at Disneyland, California belongs to Aurora, AKA Sleeping Beauty!
• Disney World: The castle at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom belongs to Cinderella! Disney World’s Magic Kingdom also has another castle! That would be the Beast’s castle!

Happiest and Magical: Yes, both make you very happy and both are truly magical, BUT…

• Disneyland: Disneyland in California is the “happiest place on Earth”.
• Disney World: Disney World in Florida is the most “magical place on Earth”.

Fast Passes:

• Disneyland: Disneyland offers the MaxPass service. Disney MaxPass is available for $15 per day, per ticket. You are not allowed to make fast passes in advance.
• Disney World: Fast Passes come with your Disney World vacation and you are allowed to make them 60 days in advance (if staying on property at a Disney World resort)! Yes, you read that correctly! Initially, you will receive three fast passes each day of your park visit. After you use those first three fast passes, more can be made one at a time from the My Disney Experience APP on your phone.

Dining:

• Disneyland: No dining plans are offered.
• Disney World: If you are staying on property at a Disney World resort, you have the option of adding a Disney Dining Plan to your package.

Memory Maker/PhotoPass Service:

• Disneyland: Included with a MaxPass ticket purchase.
• Disney World: Memory Maker is available to purchase for $199 (if purchased in advance of your vacation, it’s $169).

Parks:

• Disneyland has two parks: Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park
• Disney World has four parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios

On-Site Hotels/Resorts:

• Disneyland: Three on-site resorts and also offers good neighbor hotels.

Guests will experience the wonderful worlds of Pixar throughout the reimagined Pixar Pier. At Toy Story Boardwalk, the beloved stories of “Toy Story” are brought to life through attractions, entertainment, food and more. Enjoy the tour!

Anchoring Toy Story Boardwalk is the fan-favorite Toy Story Midway Mania!, where you’ll shrink down to the size of a toy in this 4D game. Poultry Palace, which looks like the fun, oversized meal and juice box featured in the Pixar short, “Toy Story Toon: Small Fry,” offers delicious chicken drumsticks, turkey legs and corn on the cob. You can also stop by Señor Buzz Churros, where Buzz Lightyear has switched into Spanish mode to offer the quintessential Disneyland Resort treat.

Also, opening in 2019 at Toy Story Boardwalk, Jessie’s Critter Carousel will invite you for a rootin’ tootin’ spin! Inspired by Jessie’s wilderness friends in the “Woody’s Roundup” television show from “Toy Story 2,” the reimagined carousel will have a whimsical twist.
