Holidays at the Grand Floridian

On our last trip to the “magic”, we detoured and did a little “resort hopping”. The resorts have so much to offer, especially during the holidays. The Grand Floridian Resort was absolutely stunning. Christmas decorations were literally everywhere. As you walk into the main lobby from the monorail, the view is breathtaking! You will instantly see the life size gingerbread house and the large, beautiful Christmas Tree that is standing in the middle of the resort.

Gingerbread House

This is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen! This life-size house of deliciousness will awe your every sense! The closer you get to it, the more you will realize just how delicious it all smells. You are actually able to walk around to the back of the house and see cast members inside working their magic. You are also able to purchase a piece of the Gingerbread House (the pre-made roof shingles). Other yummy treats are also available, such as cupcakes, candy and more. Commemorative collector’s pins and other holiday merchandise are also available for purchase.

More Yummy Aromas

Be prepared to be hit with the luscious “smells” of the Grand Floridian. Of course, “Christmas smells” are everywhere. But did you know that the Grand Floridian has a wonderful little shop, called “The Basin”, where hand poured soaps are created. They also make bath bombs and other lovely items for your bathroom and kitchen. Yes, BATH BOMBS are created here! I know, I know…I did stay in that quaint little shop for almost an hour!

How Do I Get There?

Many people get a little confused about going to the resorts. But have no fear, because I promise you that it’s not hard. You will simply go to a park (we choose Magic Kingdom or Epcot just because they are on the monorail and it’s faster). The monorail will take you straight to the Grand Floridian. You do NOT need a park ticket to get on the monorail, if you are just going to a resort.
