Be Our Guest Restaurant: A Disney World Dining Review

Be Our Guest Walt Disney WorldFind out why this is the Number One Restaurant in Magic Kingdom with the Be Our Guest Restaurant: A Disney World Dining Review!

BE MY GUEST! It’s no surprise that this restaurant is my absolute, without a doubt, favorite in all of Walt Disney World. From the fabulous castle decor, incredible food with a french flair and of course, “The Beast” himself. Be Our Guest truly makes you feel at home, rather than a guest. I invite you to relax, pull up a chair and let me tell you why you don’t want to miss out on Be Our Guest restaurant in the Magic Kingdom.

Be Our Guest is located in Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom. The magic starts even before you enter the castle doors. Walking to the castle, you are immediately transformed to a quaint little French village. When you do enter the castle, you are greeted by talking knights in armor. Yes, they talk amongst themselves, but you WILL think they are talking to you!

Breakfast and Lunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant

never too late bog (1)During breakfast and lunch, you have the option to place your orders on My Disney Experience 30 days before your arrival. Don’t worry, you can also place your order when you get to the restaurant if you don’t like the idea of picking out your food that far in advance.  I find the preordering option great for our family because they typically tend take forever to pick out what they want and this way we do it before hand and just confirm our order and then head to our table.  I highly recommend this option for those of you with small children.  We have a cousin who travels with our family and I once saw her try to wrangle a two year old while her husband and older son spent a good ten minutes picking out their food.  She now insists that they pick out their choices at home and tells me that she loves that she doesn’t have worry about the little one breaking down while his older brother spends half an eternity deciding between a sandwich or something heartier.  Please note that if you do choose to preorder your food, you will still have the option to change your order when you arrive.

Be Our Guest 2No matter which works for you, you are invited to be seated in one of the 3 dining areas.  We have eaten in all 3 areas, but the West Wing is our favorite. It is dark and stormy, with a dreadful ambiance that my boys love. You can see the torn curtains and slashed pictures and to top it off, it’s also storming-complete with thundering and lightening!  If you look close enough, you might even spot a rose! I do warn parents of very young children or those with sensory issues to steer clear of this room; you can still go in and look around, but it’s nice to actually eat in another room if you children don’t like loud noises.  You may also choose either the Grand Ballroom or the Castle Gallery (library). The Grand Ballroom boasts high, domed ceilings, beautiful chandeliers and snow-laced Gothic arches. In the Castle Gallery, you will find it completed with a larger than life Belle and Beast dancing on top of a music box, surrounded by Belle’s “other loves”, books!

Let’s take a look at breakfast first, since it is the first and most important meal of the day! Breakfast is offered as quick-service meal and served prix fixe. It includes your choice of entree, beverage, and an assortment of delicious pastries to share at the table. Adult entrees feature an Open-face Bacon and Egg Sandwich, Eggs Florentine, French Croissant Doughnut, Assorted Cured Meats and Cheese Tray, Scrambled Egg Whites, and Vegetable Quiche. Kids meals feature choices such as Crepes and French Toast.  After you have had a few minutes to take in all of the “beauty”, and get your drinks from the self-service area, your food will magically appear! Seriously! I do not know HOW they do it, but it’s super magical.

Next is lunch!! No, I did NOT do all three meals in ONE day…although I certainly would! (I HAVE eaten breakfast AND dinner in the same day.). Lunch is also a quick service, which makes this a fantastic value, especially if you are on the Disney Dining Plan. We ordered a carved prime roast beef sandwich, Coq Au Vin (braised pork with mushrooms, onions, carrots and bacon served with mashed potatoes and jardiniere). My little one ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup and ate EVERY BITE! Other options for lunch include Croque Monsieur (grilled sandwich with ham and gruyere cheese and pomme frites-”french fries”), a vegetable quiche and several other sandwich options. Other children’s menu items also includes grilled mahi mahi, mickey meatloaf and carved turkey sandwiches.  At both breakfast and lunch, you will need to grab your own silverware, napkins, and drinks; at dinner, you will receive the best of Beast’s service with a full table service experience.

The Dining Room Presents...

The Be Our Guest Dining Room Presents… Your Dinner!

You are in for a fabulous treat! Of course, this is my FAVORITE meal. You are seated by a hostess and will have a very attentive “maitre de” at your beck and call. A French inspired dinner is waiting just for you and your family! You will feel like you have been swept away into another country while dining on authentic french cuisine.  Waiting for you is a beautiful and perfectly placed table complete with a “rose” napkin.

Start your meal with an appetizer such as a tray of assorted meats and sausages or a bowl of french onion soup.  Alcoholic beverages are also available at Be Our Guest (for dinner only), so order up a nice bottle of Moscato to go along with your meal!

Listen closely for it to begin storming! When this happens, The Beast will make his appearance and greet everyone who is having dinner in his castle. You have several choices for dinner including Roasted Lamb and Grilled Strip Steak. We dined on the Grilled Strip Steak with Garlic-Herb Butter and Pommes Frites (french fries) and the Sautéed Shrimp and Scallops (with Lobster, Mushrooms, and Seasonal Vegetables in a creamy Lobster Sauce), which were completely amazing.  The children’s menu will make your little ones say “Ooooo LA LA” with such as Beast Casserole (Macaroni & Cheese served with Seasonal Vegetables) or the Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Soup. Mickey Kid-Check meals are also available with items such as Grilled Steak, Chicken Brochette or Grilled Fish of the Day. Drinks and Desserts are included with the children’s meals.

waltexpress.com (5)Your little one may also want to have their drinks in a Souvenir Goblet, which is way cool and even lights up! ($19.00 with drink included).

Notice I have not mentioned DESSERT even once!! Yes, I have saved the absolute BEST for last. You all know the saying “Try the grey stuff, it’s delicious”…yes, the grey stuff is delicious, but so is the Triple Chocolate Cupcake, Éclair à l’Orange or the Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake. Oh My!  They even offer a Lemon-Raspberry Cream Puff, which has no sugar added. If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, your non-alcoholic drink and a dessert will come with your meal.

Did you think we were fini (finished) after dessert? Absolutely NOT! You are in for one more sweet surprise. The Beast will see you now!!  What?? Yes, after dinner and dessert, you are escorted into the Beast’s parlor for a meet and greet and photo session.

Now do you see why this is the number one restaurant in Walt Disney World? A Be Our Guest dinner reservation is one of the hardest reservations to get. I highly suggest booking this restaurant as soon as possible. You can do this through your travel planner, My Disney Experience or by calling Disney Dining at 407-WDW-DINE.  You do need reservations for all three meal types, so call your travel planner or be ready to click away at 180 days!

One thing is for certain at Be Our Guest, you will feel like a Prince or Princess dining in a royal castle and have a meal that is truly one of a kind!

Still don’t believe that Be Our Guest is “Tres magnifique”?
