We are so excited about Galaxy’s Edge opening August 29, 2019 at Hollywood Studios! While there will be so many new offerings available in just a couple of months, we want to highlight a familiar favorite for those who frequent Disney World. It may be a hidden gem for first timers! Did you know about Hollywood Studios Jedi Training? Let me tell you about our experience!
Hollywood Studios Jedi Training
So, you’re a Star Wars fan. You want to do ALL the Star Wars things!! You’re planning to meet Chewy, Kylo Ren, BB8, and see all the memorabilia in Star Wars Launch Bay. What if I told you, you could fight Darth Vader or Kylo Ren too? I know, it sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? Sorry dads, this is only for our Young Jedi’s between 4 and 12 years of age. I know, sad story. You’ll have to live vicariously through your Young Jedi!
How to Sign Up for Hollywood Studios Jedi Training Academy!
If your little Luke or Leia is interested in saving the Galaxy by fighting the Dark Side, you can sign them up for Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple. You cannot sign up for this experience prior to arrival. Once you arrive at Hollywood Studios, you will need to make registration a priority. While they do have a number of spots, if you wait until even 9:30, your time may be late into the afternoon or evening (or gone). They fill up on a first come first served basis.
To sign up, you’ll go to Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost (this location is subject to change once Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens August, 29, 2019). To get to Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost, you’ll take Hollywood Boulevard (the main road at Hollywood Studios), and take a left past Mickey’s of Hollywood (currently closed for refurbishment). Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost will be immediately on your left once you’ve passed 50’s Prime Time Cafe and before you arrive at Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. You will go to the right of the store where you’ll find two cast members. Any child participating in the experience will need to be present for registration. The cast members will ask him or her a few questions and give you a time to return.
Your family will need to return 30-45 minutes prior to the show. You will hang out around that area for a little while, and then the kids will all march in a Jedi parade toward the stage. Parents and other guests will watch as these Young Jedi learn the ways of the Force and try to defeat Darth Vader and Kylo Ren. A Photo Pass Photographer is present to capture each and every moment, so you won’t miss a thing!
Hollywood Studios Jedi Training-For ALL Children
All three of our children have participated in this experience and have each loved it. Two of them love Star Wars, and one was just along for the ride. Two of them are typical kids and one is special needs. I worried about my daughter being able to participate in this experience. She’d begged to do it over and over, so finally we gave in. She wanted to “fight.” We answered the questions they asked, honestly hoping our answers of her obeying directions were accurate. She has cochlear implants and is delayed in certain areas and also struggles to hear in crowded spaces. They were so great with her, and she excelled! We had no reason to worry. All three kids enjoyed their experience regardless of delays or affinity for Star Wars. It really is a fun experience for all!
