Four Things I Will NEVER Do At Disney World Again

|

Normally when you tell a friend or a family member that you are taking a vacation to Disney World some of the first things that they say are “Oh my goodness you HAVE to…” and their list of favorite things. They may have really helpful advice. However, they may tell you things you aren’t interested in. One thing I’ve learned after many trips is that there are plenty of great things to do and then there are things that I will never do again! Here is my list of Four Things I Will NEVER Do At Disney World Again.#waltexpress #disneyworld #disneyworldplanning never do at disney

I Will NEVER Do At Disney World Again

There is a lot of planning and preparation that goes into making a trip to Disney World magical for everyone and there are some things that will make it less magical. Things like fighting about dinner and crying in Animal Kingdom (guilty!) and that just makes everyone a little on edge. After our last trip, I thought I need to change the way I’m looking at this and there are some things I never want to do at Disney World again (like cry at Animal Kingdom).

1. Stress About the Small Stuff

This is probably my number one thing to never do again. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the thought of all of the money you have spent and time you may have taken to travel. You want everything to be perfect. Fun fact: there is no perfect! Your trip will not be the same as your friend’s trip and if your friend tells you nothing went wrong, they’re lying.

2. Think I Have to Stick to a Plan

Do you know how long I spend planning each of our trips to Disney World? Months, sometimes years. I love thinking about new things to do and places to eat and get so excited about all of it. I also have a toddler. Sometimes all she wants to eat are French fries (you know what I mean)! Maybe all she wants to ride is The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. I will never do anything to take the magic of Disney World out of our vacation for her. So, that means sometimes my plans have to change and I have to be okay with that.

3. Not Plan a Rest Day

Disney World is huge. I’m talking 10-20 miles of walking a day huge. I will never do a whole week without planning a rest day for my family. That toddler? She’s not getting good naps in her stroller and she’s so excited to see Mickey Mouse she hasn’t had a full night of sleep since check-in. Take into account that you’re at the bus stop at 6:00 am (when normally you don’t even wake up until then) and you’re out park hopping ’til you drop every night. Everybody’s tired. Someone has yelled at someone else. You need a rest day. Don’t set your alarm, take your time getting ready and head down to the pool mid-morning. Enjoy lunch in the food court and go back change into something comfortable and head to Disney Springs. Your wallet might not thank me, but your family will.

4. Play It Safe

Not physical safety, mind you. I’m talking – let’s get adventurous. Ideally, I would eat every lunch at Magic Kingdom at Pinocchio Village Haus. Why? Because that chicken parmesan sandwich is my favorite thing. You know what makes me a little nervous? Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen and that’s only because I’ve never eaten there and it has words like “curried” on the menu. In other words, I’m a fairly picky eater. I like the familiar. Most of the time my husband obliges and we eat what I want but I need to step out of my comfort zone on this one a little. I also really need to up my snack game, there are so many things I haven’t tried. I won’t say that I will never do lunch at Pinocchio Village Haus again, but I can say I’ll expand my horizons on my next trip!

More Things I’ll Never Do Again

I’m sure that as I continue to travel to Disney World with my family, this list will continue to grow. I know most people say “never say never” but this is one instance where you should definitely add some “never” to your list! As you plan your next adventure, here’s some more information on things to avoid for more magic during your next visit to Walt Disney World!
