Did You Know: Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial In Disney’s Magic Kingdom
OK, no more pirate-y talk…for a while, anyways. Lots of info to tell you about!
Did you know that you can meet everyone’s favorite pirate, Jack Sparrow? There really should be a “CAPTAIN” in there somewhere! Being the HUGE pirate fans that we are, we spend a lot of time in Tortuga (in Adventureland). This land is super fun and adventurous. It can get a little intense at times because you just never know when a pirate may decide to take over the area! Don’t be scared, my Disney friends. It’s just Captain Jack Sparrow and he wants you to learn how to be a pirate! He and some of his closest friends have a “tutorial” several times a day teaching sword fighting 101. He does need the help of some “Junior pirates” that may be lurking around. Be sure to get there a few minutes early and you may just get lucky!

We were very lucky once and my son was chosen to train with the good Captain. The Jr. Adventures even take the honorary (can pirates and “honorary” even be in the same sentence?) oath at the end of the tutorial and receive their “pirate papers”!
When Does This Happen
This little adventure happens daily (normal hours are from 10:30 am-4:30 pm), but times can change. Now, bring me that horizon!
Tips
- Park admission to Magic Kingdom is required
- Times/Dates may change (you never know about those pirates)
- Check the schedule HERE
- No fast pass needed or required
The pirate tutorial is a super fun extra that the kiddos will love!
Think you may be a pirate? Take our little test and find out for sure!!
